Robert Zemeckiss A Christmas Carol Trailer Starring Jim Carrey
This trailer for Robert Zemeckis's A Christmas Carol is not new in any way... in fact, it's been playing in theatres for months and I'm guessing a lot of people out there are already sick of seeing it. However, for some reason it hadn't been available online until earlier this week... maybe because they wanted to force people to see it in 3-D first? I'm not sure. Either way, I thought it would be worth posting, at least for the people who haven't been to a theatre in a few months.
A Christmas Carol uses the same performance capture technology that Zemeckis has been playing around with since The Polar Express, and it stars Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge and the three ghosts. You already know it's going to make a ton of money just based on the fact that it's a family-friendly holiday movie with him in it. What drives me nuts about this trailer is that it throws all the technical wizardry in your face (the facial deformation, the melting snowflake, skin texture) without giving a single reason why we need another retelling of this classic story. Who knows, maybe it will end up surprising me, but as of right now, I just feel like it's How the Grinch Stole Christmas all over again. What do you think, will this actually be worth checking out? A Christmas Carol hits theatres on November 6th; check out the trailer after the jump.
