Robin Williams Rollercoaster

Thursday, August 20, 2009 12:42 PM
Since starting out on the San Francisco stand up circuit in the 1970’s, Robin Williams has found fame and success on both the big and small screen. Regardless of how you feel about his career choices, you have to give him credit for the wide range of roles he has taken on. Everyone knows that it’s always been a fad for comedians to try their hand at more serious fare, but Williams has actually succeeded in genres across the board. Which is why it is so frustrating when he attaches himself to projects like the Disney film Old Dogs (directed by Wild Hogs’ Walt Becker). In a career that has had many highs and lows (most recently of the personal variety) we thought it would be interesting to map out his accomplishments in the form of a rollercoaster. Sure, it took a little bit of time to do so…but I guess we’re just inspired by the glowing reviews that his latest film, World’s Greatest Dad, has been receiving. It’s about time the man had an upswing. We thought it was all over after License to Wed.
