Universal Pictures hops on the supernatural monster bandwagon and presents action/horror flick
The Wolfman, a modern remake the 1941 classic Curt Siodmak screenplay. What it lacks in
Taylor Lautner status abs, it makes up for in full moon mystery and dramatic romance (just in time for a V-day date with your cryptic sweetheart?).
The Wolfman stars Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, Hugo Weaving, and Art Malik and boasts the six-time Oscar-winning special effects of Rick Baker.
Based on a fictional, but totally realistic story,
The Wolfman is your average werewolf action-slash-drama-slash-Victorian love tale. Lawrence Talbot’s (De Toro) disturbing family history unravels after returning to his roots upon the request of his estranged father (Hopkins) and joining in to assist his AWOL brother’s fiancée, Gwen (Blunt), in her action-packed searches for her missing man. Expect plenty of vicious fights, fantastical plot-twists, and some not-so adolescent friendly animal-style lovin’.
To be released Febrary 12th, this homage to an original horror legend certainly won’t have you wandering into the woods looking for cuddly russet-haired wolves.
